What is a reasonable hardware spec for a machine to run Windows XP? I'm sure MS lists some anaemic spec that is really useless in practice Just wondering if a K6-2/400 with 64MB and 6 GB HDD would be really crippled (running MS Office Pro XP, FrontPage & Publisher) On this specification I would install Windows ME.

Sure,
there are Mil-Spec, AN, and JAN hardware bolts all over the place around FBO's. That stuff is probably unsuitable for automotive use. But it's so *tempting* to use trick bolts that you can get for free at the hangar. I know that the guys who build experimental aircraft and so on have to get very specific

In Unreal especially, the MX300 makes such a difference even though Unreal is/was A3d 1.0, not even 2.0 When I tested the Live!, there was no improvement at all using hardware acceleration, it was like 3d audio was disabled. SIN, Half Life and possibly other games also sound much better with MX300.

The Glide 3 manual hints at hardware perspective projection and viewport transformation. Personally i'd love to see a hardware clipper. Only rare PCI devices are shareable among multiple drivers. sata_* at least intentionally used pci_request_regions() because it is obvious from the hardware spec that multiple regions accessed by multiple drivers is highly unlikely, without the driver being specifically coded to support such sharing.

I am considering the Developer's Edition of Paradox 9 for this application against several other environment but would like a few pointers regarding the minimum hardware requirements for effective operation.
